Admission Requirements
If you are applying for international student admission and an F-1 student visa, you must meet both the program-specific admission requirements and those outlined below. Application deadlines and requirements vary from program to program. With the additional steps, it is important that you plan ahead and ensure all application materials are received by the deadline. If you have questions, or need further assistance, contact the Admissions Office at admissions@antiochseattle.edu.
- Demonstration of English language proficiency — Submit official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test results. You must receive a minimum score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) and 79 on the internet test. Request your official TOEFL test score be sent directly to Antioch University Seattle, institution code 4146. To find a TOEFL testing center in your country, contact the U.S. Embassy, U.S. Consulate or U.S. Information Service in your country. If you’ve completed education in the United States or Canada, this requirement may be waived. Contact the Admissions Office at admissions@antiochseattle.edu if your background may exempt you from this requirement.
- If you had schooling in a country other than the U.S. or Canada (except Quebec), you must request two official transcripts from each of your academic institutions. Have one official transcript sent directly to Antioch University Seattle by the academic institution(s). If transcripts are not in English, they must be translated to English by certified translators. Also, request that a second official transcript be sent directly to a credential evaluator. Antioch requires certified translations and evaluations of international documents. For assistance locating evaluation services, e-mail the Admissions Office. You may select a credential evaluator from the following website: www.naces.org.
- Please note if you are applying to a graduate degree or graduate certificate program, you are required to have a four-year degree equivalent to a U.S. baccalaureate degree.
- Financial certification—Submit documentation of your ability to pay the educational and living expenses for your program. Examples include bank statements, loan documents or other written evidence of resources. As an international student you are not eligible for financial assistance from the U.S. government.
- If you are accepted to one of Antioch's degree or certificate programs, you will receive the necessary U.S. immigration forms to apply for a student visa through the U.S. consulate in your home country. Admission to Antioch University does not guarantee that you will receive a student visa. If you do not receive a student visa in time for your program start, you may contact the Admissions Office for assistance in changing your admission to a later quarter.
- It is important to note that as an international student with a student visa you must be enrolled full time each quarter. In general, your student visa does not allow you to be employed while in school.
