The Graduate Teacher Preparation program prepares you for Washington state teacher certification. At the Seattle campus, this 62 quarter credit program takes five quarters to complete. At the Muckleshoot site, it is an eight-quarter program.
The Graduate Teacher Preparation program with an M.A. option allows you to prepare for Washington state teacher certification while earning your master's degree at the same time. At the Seattle campus, you may complete your M.A. with all teacher preparation requirements in six quarters and 74 quarter credits. Our Muckleshoot site offers this program in eight quarters.
Your Antioch courses will include those related to both teaching methods and classroom management. Although some endorsement content areas are included in the program, you will need to demonstrate competence in most outside the program. You may do so through additional courses, past professional experiences, applicable life experience or standardized tests. Admission Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Minimum undergraduate cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5.
- Two letters of recommendation, at least one from a teacher or principal which describes the quality of your interaction with students in a school classroom. Reference letters must be submitted on Antioch's recommendation form directly to the Antioch Admissions Office. Letters from friends or relatives are not acceptable.
- Passing scores on the WEST-B basic skills test, including all three subtests. Visit www.west.nesinc.com for more information.

- Endorsement Worksheet: Complete the worksheet and attach any documentation you would like. You are encouraged to meet with an admissions adviser and/or the certification officer prior to submitting your assessment to answer any questions you may have.
