C3 Faculty Member Home Part of 2009 National Solar Home Tour

Jonathan Scherch, core faculty in the Center for Creative Change, is part of this year's Seattle Solar Tour, presented by Solar Washington, as part of the ASES National Solar Tour, the world's largest grassroots solar event. The Solar Tour aims to help people explore the rich opportunities for green energy being created by innovative businesses, organizations and families.

Scherch designed and installed himself the 520-watt solar PV system for every-day use. His off-grid home includes a deck made of FSC-certified sustainably-harvested cedar and a rainwater catchment providing drip irrigation to terrace gardens and permaculture design "edible landscape."
