Matt Phillips, J.D., is currently the executive director of the Dispute Resolution Center of Snohomish and Island Counties. He conducts training, mediations, arbitrations, facilitations and consults with a wide variety of organizations in the development and design of conflict management systems including corporations, government agencies, educational institutions and other groups. Phillips is a frequent speaker and trainer in the field of conflict management and has worked with clients ranging from private companies such as AT&T and Bank of America, to public entities from coast to coast including the Newport-Mesa Unified School District and the Connecticut Education Association.  

Kathy Rice is a certified master mediator and program manager for the Dispute Resolution Center of Snohomish and Island Counties. Rice has worked in the field of facilitation and group leadership for over 10 years. She has trained, mediated, and facilitated with clients from various backgrounds. She has designed and delivered special conflict management programs for federal agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Oceanographic & Atmospheric Association and others.

Berit Liband, M.A., communications, University of Washington. Liband is currently a training specialist consultant with the Dispute Resolution Center of Snohomish & Island Counties where she trains and helps to administer the extensive mediation training and certification program. Liband has focused on communication theory, group process and intercultural communications. She has lectured, facilitated and mediated in many settings including universities, corporations and community dialogue workshops.
