Camp Antioch 2007
The first ever Camp Antioch was held on Vashon Island July 28 to 29, 2007. The idea for holding an annual gathering that incorporates fun, learning and networking originated at an alumni brainstorming session in February 2007.
The theme for 2007 was "Feeding the Mind, Body and Spirit." Twenty alumni and guests signed up and participated in the event, which was judged by the participants to be a huge success. In fact, all twenty have signed up for next year's camp, July 18 to 20, 2008, at the same location, Camp Burton.
The camp's advantages and highlights were the location, food, advance notice, focused schedule, prior-planning (which involved soliciting ideas from alumni), diversity and balance of activities (workshops, campfire, bonding opportunities, singing, dancing and story telling) and the connections made among the alumni.
