If you would like to receive news about alumni benefits and special events, please provide us with your current contact information.
Free Class Audits
The most exciting perk for many of our alumni is the opportunity to audit up to two academic courses per quarter, free of charge. When you audit, you can continue to participate in the world-class education and dialogues happening here at Antioch University Seattle.
If you wish to audit a course, check with the registrar’s office immediately prior to the first week of the quarter to find out if there is space available in the course. If there is space, contact the instructor for approval to participate. Then, print and fill out the Special Registration Form, have the instructor sign it on the first day of class, and return it to the registrar’s office. No tuition will be charged, but please note that a few courses have materials fees that need to be paid at the time of registration.
Alumni E-Newsletter
As alumni, you will receive our monthly e-newsletter “AUSpicious.” If you are not currently receiving the newsletter, but would like to, please contact Michelle Wilkinson.
Career Resources
Please visit our Career Resources section, for information on career counseling, job search advice, and specific job leads, or to advertise job openings to fellow AUS alumni.
Stay tuned for more information about the career resources event taking place at AUS on May 4, 2013: “Permission to Market Yourself!” It will be a great opportunity to sharpen your resume and interview skills, learn about social media in the job search, and network with fellow alumni and professionals from your field.
Financial Literacy Assistance
Antioch University has launched a partnership with $ALT. $ALT is a financial literacy program offered through American Student Assistance, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping students and families manage higher education debt. $ALT offers information about student loan repayment, consolidation, and loan forgiveness programs. It also provides helpful career services, and will help AUS alumni and students manage finances and student loans. For more information about $ALT and to take advantage of this great program, simply visit their website and sign up for free.
Application Fee Waiver Form
Many of our alumni recommend Antioch University to family members, friends, and colleagues. We waive the $50 admission fee for applicants referred by alumni. All you have to do is complete a short form and give it to the student so it can be submitted with the application for admission. If you need a waiver form, please contact us.
Library & Computer Lab Privileges
Alumni are welcome to use the AUS Library and computer lab at any time during regular campus hours. Please keep your contact information current with the Library if you wish to check out any materials.
Alumni may also use most of the research databases to search and print articles while on campus. You can contact the library for help with research; if your request is beyond the scope of the library’s ability, they may refer you to your local public library or other sources.
Please visit the library website for more information, to view their catalog, or to read their quarterly newsletter.
Continuing Education
Continuing Education offers more great opportunities for alumni to teach and learn with the Antioch community. If you are interested in taking classes, or need continuing education clock hours, you can enroll in Continuing Education courses at a discounted rate. Please visit the Center for Continuing Education website for information about upcoming courses.
If you are interested in teaching a workshop, the center often works with alumni who are experts in areas where there is a continuing education demand. To be considered for teaching a workshop, please contact Debra Alderman, Director of Continuing Education, at dalderman@antioch.edu or 206-268-4118.
Alumni Networking
We continue our efforts to create more opportunities for you to connect with other alumni, catch up, and network. Some of the current opportunities to network include:
- Attending one or more of the engaging and educational events happening on the AUS campus every month. Often, alumni give presentations or participate in discussions. Go to the Events Calendar to find out more.
- The career resources event “Permission to Market Yourself” on May 4, 2013 that will provide you with the tools for a successful job search. Many alumni will be in attendance as presenters and participants. Stay tuned for more information.
- Visit the official AUS Facebook page to stay connected, find out about events and educational opportunities, and to get in touch with old friends. There is also a LinkedIn page (“Antioch University, Seattle – Alumni”), created by alumni for alumni, where you can connect to alumni who share the same professional interests.
- Go to Alumni Updates to find out what’s going on in the personal and professional lives of your fellow alumni, and to connect with them about common interests.
