Admission Requirements for Endorsement

  • Washington state teaching certificate: residency, continuing or professional
  • K-12 teaching experience (one year minimum)
  • Basic computer competency, including literacy with word processing, e-mail and the Internet

Application Process

Those teachers who are not applying for an Antioch University Seattle degree simply register for their course of choice.

To obtain an application form, you can download it, contact the Admissions Office at 206-268-4202 (or toll-free 888-268-4477) or e-mail admissions@antiochseattle.edu. Submit your completed form and a $30 nonrefundable application fee to:

Once accepted, you enroll in one of the Antioch University Seattle courses.

Fees and Tuition for non-matriculated teachers

  • Application Fee: $30
  • Antioch University Seattle credits: $450/credit
  • Mansfield University credit: $520/semester credit, plus technology fee
  • Endorsement processing fee: $15 made out to Puget Sound Educational Service District that accompanies Antioch's request for the endorsement to be added to certificate

Students who withdraw from a course are refunded tuition, in accordance with the university's refund policy outlined in tuition payment information.

Institute of Museum and Library Science (IMLS) Scholarships

Scholarships are available to eligible students for up to 75% of tuition in Antioch's Library Media Specialist endorsement program. To find out if you are eligible, read more about the scholarship program and download an application here.

Earning the Endorsement

You are evaluated in each course on the basis of standards established by Antioch University Seattle, its instructors and the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. At the end of each course, you receive a pass/not pass grade and a narrative assessment reflecting on your performance. You must complete at least half of your coursework through Antioch University Seattle to earn the endorsement and you must pass the Praxis II Library Media examination. At the end of the program, your portfolio is evaluated as a final demonstration on achievement of competencies.
