Message From the Director

Greetings! And welcome to Antioch University Seattle’s Center for Creative Change.

I encourage you to browse the Center’s website and learn more about us, whether you are a first-time visitor or whether you are considering admission to one of our graduate programs.

The Center for Creative Change offers five graduate degree programs in Environment and Community, Management, Organizational Psychology, Strategic Communication and Whole Systems Design. We also offer graduate certificates in related disciplines.

When I first browsed the Center’s website more than five years ago, I was impressed immediately by its mission to prepare students to lead positive change in organizations, communities and businesses. I also was struck by the commitment to experiential learning, systemic thinking and ecological sustainability. But as I came to know the Center better, what impressed me most was the people – the students, faculty, staff and alumni – who make up this distinctive center for graduate education. They are remarkable for their dedication to helping to create a better society for everyone.

Since July 2007, I have had the privilege of being director of the Center for Creative Change after holding an appointment as core faculty in the Environment and Community program. As director, I am tremendously excited about the potential of this unusual learning community. Over the five years of its existence, the Center has grown considerably, yet there is so much more we can do together to help build a world that really works.

I invite you to visit the Antioch campus, meet with an admissions adviser, come to an Open House, sit in on a class, talk with students and faculty and begin to experience first hand what makes the Center for Creative Change programs so dramatically different from those you find elsewhere.
