Here's an example of a student who elected to individualize her degree program:
Kristina Blackman, a graduate of Antioch's B.A. completion program, created her own degree in management and leadership.
"When I enrolled in the program," Blackman says, "I had very specific needs in mind for completing my degree. I had more than 150 college credits from other universities of which 60 quarter credits were focused in business management and leadership-related coursework. Because of this heavy focus in business management and leadership, I needed generalized liberal arts courses to round out my program. In addition, I wanted to complete my degree in four quarters and, if accepted, start Antioch's Graduate Management program immediately upon completing my B.A. degree. So with these specific academic needs and goals in mind, I chose to create my own degree.
"To complete my degree (180 quarter credits), I transferred in 120 quarter credits from three different universities. I decided to complete the minimum 36 quarter credits in Antioch coursework in generalized liberal arts courses and to document 24 credits of life experience so I could finish my program in four quarters."
