An Alternative to Holiday Shopping Madness
WHAT: Alternative Holiday Gift Market
WHEN: 3 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8
WHERE: Room 100 on the Antioch University Seattle campus, at 2326 Sixth Ave. in Belltown
WHY: Honor friends and loved ones this season with a gift of sustainable self-sufficiency for an individual, family or village in a developing country or for those in the Seattle area who need the basics such as clean water, livestock, sustainable agriculture, literacy and vocational training. View exhibits and learn about different global sustainable development projects that can be supported in a tangible way. Become part of a community of people forging new traditions and challenging materialistic values.
For donations of $10 or more, you receive a custom-inscribed card to give to friends and family members detailing the project you support in their honor. All donations are tax deductible.
WHO: Several organizations that offer hope and opportunity to the world’s poorest communities through sustainable development projects will participate. Antioch‘s Center for Creative Change is sponsoring the event.
