Seattle — Antioch University Seattle has promoted Gail Cheney to assistant director of the Early College High School Initiative for Native Youth. This initiative, which is working with Native American schools and tribes across the state, is part of a nationwide effort to increase the number of first-generation, low-income and minority students who attain a bachelor's degree. Cheney previously was grants manager.
Cheney has a bachelor's degree in urban studies and planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her work includes using digital media to demonstrate the impact of early college high schools on students' expectations and on graduation rates.
