"Urban Cowgirls" Workshop Explores Lesbian Survival in Corporate
America
Seattle — Corporate lesbian survival strategies are the focus
of an upcoming interactive workshop, “Urban Cowgirls: How Lesbians
in Corporate America Have Learned to Negotiate the Heterosexism of Corporate
America." The workshop, featuring business expert Julie Gedro,
Ph.D., will be held Wednesday, July 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Antioch University
Seattle.
Gedro, a professor in the Business/Management/Economics Department of Empire State College in Syracuse, NY, will facilitate this workshop based on her research findings on successful corporate lesbians. Corporate human resources professionals and managers, along with those who have experienced life as corporate lesbians, are encouraged to participate.
Event sponsors are the Boeing Employees Association for Gays, Lesbians and Friends (BEAGLES) and the Center for Creative Change at Antioch University Seattle.
The workshop is free and open to the public, but advanced registration is required and space will be limited. To register, call Debra Alderman in the Center for Creative Change at 206-268-4906.
