| Position Summary |
Antioch University Seattle seeks a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial and Administrative officer to provide financial leadership and management of administrative services.

| Nature and Scope |
As the Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA) for the Seattle campus, the position bears direct and primary fiduciary responsibilities and is obligated to safeguard the financial integrity and soundness of the institution and to anticipate the full range of potential challenges and threats to the fiscal soundness of Antioch University Seattle (AUS).
The VPFA has an indirect reporting relationship to the Vice Chancellor and CFO at the central administration headquarters of Antioch University in Yellow Springs, Ohio and maintains regular and effective communication with this Vice Chancellor and the University Controller. Travel to system-wide meetings and other campuses are required periodically.
The VPFA has a direct reporting relationship to the President of Antioch University Seattle. The VPFA is expected to foster a climate of collegiality, working closely with the President's leadership team, local governance board, Vice Presidents, Deans, Directors and various college councils and committees. In the absence of the President, and at her request, the VPFA performs university oversight and serves as a liaison with a wide range of individuals, organizations and community leaders outside the university. |
| Essential Functions/Accountabilities |
The VPFA is responsible for the university's overall planning, organization, control and evaluation of the finances, audit and budget in a centralized system. The position is responsible for providing sound leadership, management and oversight for the university's facility maintenance, procurement, computer services, human resources, contractual and legal activities, campus security and emergency management, and other related business activities. The VPFA also manages auxiliary enterprises and contracts for food services, bookstore and other outsourced services at the Seattle campus and provides administrative and functional supervision of approximately 13 regular employees.

| Qualifications |
The ideal VPFA candidate must:
- Possess demonstrated, sophisticated financial planning and assessment skills;
- Have a keen sense of excellence and professionalism with a commitment to best practices in developing administrative operating procedures and policies in areas of financial and administrative services;
- Possess effective interpersonal, organizational, analytical, teamwork and collaborative communication skills;
- Demonstrate experience using higher education administrative software (e.g. Datatel), information technology and financial systems and their use in analysis and reporting;
- Demonstrate the ability to plan, develop, implement, direct and evaluate the university's fiscal functions and performance;
- Demonstrate the ability provide advice to a long-term strategic planning process and evaluate various strategic planning documents;
- have master's degree in business administration, accounting, finance or other appropriate advanced degree; 5-8 years of relevant administrative and financial management experience, preferably in a higher education institution or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired; effective oral and written communication skills are essential.
